Keith Alan O'Neal, born to Regina and James O'Neal on April 6, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. He grew up alongside his brother, Phillip O'Neal, on Park Side Street, overcoming the challenges of juvenile diabetes with an adventurous spirit. Keith embraced life with enthusiasm, playing baseball, participating in Boy Scouts, and even traveling to Europe during high school. He graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1973 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in 1978, followed by a Master's in Sociology a few years later.
A proud member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Keith was initiated in 1975. He enjoyed a successful career in Human Resources with esteemed companies such as Mayo Medical Clinic, Quaker Oats, Comerica, and Intel. Throughout his life, he resided in various cities, including Richmond, VA, Harrisburg, PA, Rochester, MN, Detroit, MI, Sacramento, CA, Oklahoma City, OK, and Atlanta, GA.
Keith was a devoted sports fan, cheering for teams like Michigan State Spartans, Detroit Pistons, Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and Oklahoma City Thunder. He also had a passion for watching Star Trek, Star Wars, James Bond and Marvel movies. In his spare time, he cherished moments with his Sands EKG, his children and beloved dog, Tasha.
He also enjoyed the finer things in life, earning himself the reputation as being a "Foodie"!
In 2007, Keith received the remarkable gift of a simultaneous pancreas and kidney transplant, transforming his life. He spent his final years in Atlanta, Georgia, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He is now reunited with his father, mother, and brother in eternal rest.
Keith is survived by his son, Alex O'Neal, daughter, Kayla O'Neal, grandsons, Aaron and Adam O'Neal, granddaughter, Julii O'Neal and his cherished dog Tasha O'Neal. His wit, love for life, sense of humor, and vibrant soul will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
